Welcome to Stagecoach Hastings! We are a happy vibrant school training over 100 students in the three main performing arts disciplines every Saturday. We are very proud to have an excellent independent inspection record across the board in our dance classes, drama classes and singing classes. We pride ourselves on providing top quality performing arts training for children in the area. All Stagecoach theatre school Hastings students have the opportunity to perform in shows, take musical theatre exams and join the agency. We welcome children and young people of all abilities interested in acting, singing and dancing. performing arts training and theatre skills are a great way to build confidence through our acting classes, dance classes and singing classes. Summer Term 2024

Stagecoach Hastings is thrilled to stage "We Will Rock You," for our summer term production. We can't wait to rock the audience with unforgettable music and give our students the chance to show off their unbelievable talent. This legendary musical featuring the music of Queen will showcase the passion and energy of our Main School performers.

Early Stages

We have limited places available in our Early Stages class. Enrol now for a two week trial and join the Stagecoach Hastings family. Children can enrol the term they are turning 4 and move on to Stage 1 of the Main School at age 6. Our little performers work on a new theme each term, building performance skills and confidence.

Performance Arts Awards

All of our students have the opportunity to gain Performance Arts Awards - Graded examinations in musical theatre. This process is great fun and gives the children access to a varied assortment of musical theatre resources. Previous results were outstanding with 100% pass rate and a large number of students gaining Merits and Distinctions.

TOBY STARS IN HIT SHOWS

Congratulations to Stagecoach Hastings student who landed not one but two starring roles! First, as Bruce in the UK tour of the West End production of 'Matilda', and the second as 'Dennis' in the RSC's production of 'The Boy in the Dress' in Stratford-Upon -Avon.

Mini Stages (for ages 2-4 yrs)

Mini Stages
Stagecoach Mini Stages (for 2 -4 year olds) 45 Minute Classes are a fun and exciting way for you and your child to actively experience the performing arts in a comfortable, relaxed and safe environment.

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Stagecoach Early Stages
Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Stagecoach Main Stages
Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

(3 hrs each week)

Further Stages (for ages 15+ yrs)

Stagecoach Further Stages
Our advanced musical theatre sessions give talented students the chance to extend their performance skills.  Through in-depth training and master classes, we help students to hone their skills in singing, dancing and acting.  We also give students the confidence to audition for theatre and vocational drama schools (if that is their goal) and make sure they are well prepared for interviews and auditions. 

Fees in accordance with Main Stages.

Meet The Team

Principal - Avril Crawford - ALAM, ATCL, ADPA

Avril’s Stagecoach journey began more than 20 years ago. Her extensive background spans across theatre and music making her a versatile and comprehensive educator. She gained a teaching Diploma from Trinity College London (Speech and drama), and is an associate of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. With a background as a lead vocalist in various bands and experience performing in musicals (Sweet Charity, 42nd Street, Barnum, Fame) Avril brings a wealth of practical knowledge to her teaching. Additionally, her skills as a session singer add a unique perspective to her instruction, making her an inspiring mentor for vocalists of all ages and abilities. She believes in nurturing the creative spirit within each student, with an emphasis not only on technical excellence but the development of self-expression. Avril has an MA in Professional Practice (voice pedagogy) with a specialisation in contemporary and musical theatre singing for young voices.
