Stagecoach Harrogate

Welcome to Stagecoach Harrogate
We provide a high quality of part-time training in Performing Arts for young people aged 4-18 years.
Our aim is to nurture and develop young people through singing, dancing, and drama classes – firing young imaginations, building confidence and life skills, whilst also having fun through the three disciplines.

For 26 years Principal Ce has been providing a first class experience for all children, and a worthwhile education in the world of the performing arts, helping students to grow in confidence, and to achieve their individual goals and ambitions.
Ce has a dedicated team of teachers, some who have been with her many years, and delivers excellence in education, inspiring the students of Harrogate Stagecoach to flourish, not only in class, but in life.

Meet The Team

Principal - Celia Darby - ARMCM

Ce trained at the Royal Manchester College of Music and pursued a varied career in the theatre from pantomime in London’s West End to opera at the Royal Festival Hall. There have been recitals at many of the top recital venues and BBC Radio 3 broadcasts from the prestigious Aldeburgh Festival. She was the Classical Guest Artist on the 150th Anniversary World Cruise on Canberra, and has starred alongside artists including Danny La Rue, Ray Allen, and Roy Hudd at the famous City Varieties in Leeds.

For many years she toured her one woman shows and was the resident classical singer with the Scarborough Spa Orchestra. She was also a well- known speaker on the After Dinner Speaking circuit.

Throughout her singing career spanning 40 years, she has been passionate about passing on her knowledge and joy of singing and performance to her students, both young and old. She has had 2 winners of the prestigious BBC Radio 2 Choir Girl of the Year Competition, and is still hoping to discover a third for a hat trick!

She enthusiastically endorses the Stagecoach ethos of creative courage, giving young people the confidence to express themselves freely, to enjoy the excitement of performing, and being with like- minded young people in a safe and stimulating environment.
