Principal - Cathy Murphy - BA Hons Performing Arts
Cathy trained as a singing teacher at Salford University (BA Hons in Performing Arts). She spent 3 years in London becoming a big part of the British music scene, working as a session and backing singer for The Doves, The Specials , The Feeling, The Drums, Peter Andre, Beverley Knight, Micha Paris, Emma Bunton and Russell Watson. Cathy also regularly appears on ITV's Mr and Mrs. Most recently she won the MySpace 'One to Watch' competition, selected by none other than Taio Cruz. She also took part in the first ever series of 'Must be the Music' and got to the semi-finals with her Gospel band, CK Gospel Choir, wowing the judges Sharleen Spiteri, Dizzie Rascal and Jamie Cullam.
This year she performed at the "Biggest Band" show at Wembley Stadium and the one-year countdown to the Olympic's show for BBC 1's "The One Show" at Trafalgar Square!
Early Stages, Dance Coach - Katie Cheetham - Diploma In Dance Performance
At the age of three Katie began learning dance, initially attending the Hyde School Of Dance and later Susan Wilson School of Dance. She studied under The Imperial Society Of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD), learning ballet, tap, modern and jazz dance and regularly took examinations and appeared in all dance school productions, as well as local professional theatre at Tameside Hippodrome and The RNCM.
In 2004 she began her full time dance training at Merseyside Dance and Drama Centre where she studied for three years, completing her training in 2007. Whilst at college she gained teaching qualifications in I.S.T.D as well as studying all aspects of dance, drama and singing.
After graduating in 2007 She went on to work for the popular children's theatre company, M & M Theatrical Productions. She completed two world tours with the company, playing Fern in Charlotte's Web and Wendy in Peter Pan.
Katie now teaches dance in Primary Schools and Dance Schools in the Tameside, Stockport and Derbyshire areas.
Singing Coach - Ella Fontaine - Masters In Music Performance
Ella Fontaine has been working in the music industry for over ten years as both a teacher/director and as a musician and singer. She has taught singing and piano privately and at a theatre school and has achieved a 100% pass rate for the ABRSM examinations. She has directed a number of concerts with junior choirs and written and produced several plays for theatre in the community and education projects. Ella regularly sings opera and musical theatre for concerts and productions and has a sensitive understanding of the music industry. She is currently studying a Masters Degree in Musical Performance. She regularly attends teaching workshops through Trinity College and The Royal Schools of Music to ensure that her own teaching skills are current and in line with educational standards ensuring the best possible learning outcomes for her pupils.
Drama Coach - Fiona Paul - LAMDA Post Grad Acting degree
After training at London Studio Centre and LAMDA, with the likes of Tamsin Outhwaite, Anna Maxwell Martin and Chris O'Dowd, Fiona's professional acting credits are vast. Famous roles in her theatre, TV, radio and film career include: Lady Macbeth, Titania, Levidulcia, Kate Hardcastle, Varya, Lady Blakeney and Annis Hawker. She has worked for numerous critically acclaimed production companies and is an associate artist of Point Blank Theatre, Babbling Vagabonds Storytelling Theatre and Kill TV.
Fiona has taught for several Stagecoaches across London. She always received excellent reports after school inspections, and several of Fiona's former students are now professional actors performing in London's West End. She is excited to be starting at Stagecoach Stockport and can't wait to have fun and get stuck in with lots of new faces.
Early Stages Coach - Hannah Radcliffe - Drama BA HONS
Hannah is studying Drama in Performance at Salford University. She has a huge passion for drama and has been in many TV, theatre and radio productions throughout the UK and abroad. Hannah has a long history of teaching for Early Years classes, and has studied child development and learning at degree level also, achieving merits in all of her final examinations.
