Stephanie Manuel founded Stagecoach with David Sprigg in 1988 after a lifetime of involvement in the theatre as performer, director, writer and teacher.

Early credits include TV appearances in Lytton's Diary, Three Up Two Down, Hold the Back Page. Writing credits include Book and Lyrics of 'Punch', performed by Chichester Festival Studio Company and 'The Everyday Opera' - a prize-winning one-act play.

Stephanie is a Licentiate of the London Academy of Dramatic Art and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

Since Stagecoach first started in 1988 with three schools in Surrey, England it has been growing in strength with more and more schools opening through franchises, not only in the UK where there are now over 560 schools, but also in Germany, Malta, Spain and further afield in the United States and even Perth, Australia.

Each school has three hours of classes per week which are split up into three one-hour classes of jazz/modern dance, drama and singing, in small classes of no more than fifteen youngsters of similar age. The schools also pride themselves on using experienced professionals to teach in all the schools. Many are, or were, actors, singers, dancers, directors or choreographers. Most are highly qualified in teaching or performing, and all are carefully chosen for their experience of working with youngsters.

Ireland has a long and fascinating tradition of cultural success in all aspects of artistic endeavour, and that tradition is alive and well in the Ireland of today. Singers, dancers, actors, writers; indeed all manner of Irish show business artistes and practitioners are highly sought after and enjoying international success.

Stagecoach in Ireland is confident that many of our students will contribute to the "history of the future" in the field of performing arts. We're delighted to note the growing number of enquiries we get from all over the island. We're also very pleased that parents who care about creative and artistic development for their children are writing to us from other areas, the West, South-East and Midlands in particular. It is our fervent aspiration to extend the Stagecoach opportunities to children all over the country.
