Meet our teachers
Principal - Pete Hillier
Pete is probably best known as a TV presenter with Cbeebies BAFTA Award winning show Boogie Beebies.
He started his career performing in many West End Musicals including Saturday Night Fever, Fame, Kiss Me Kate and Summer Holiday to name but a few. He has also produced, directed and starred in many productions spanning 12 years in the entertainment industry. As a director and choreographer he has been involved with Alpha Romeo and Fiat Fashion shows, the Clothes Show Live, the half-time entertainment for Arsenal Vs West Ham and numerous productions for the Bodywork Company, Stella Mann and Pro-Excel.
As a teacher he has taught Dance, Singing and Drama classes at Stella Mann School of Performing Arts, Bodywork Performing Arts, Stageworks Dance Studios and Stagecoach Performing Arts.
Pete wrote, directed, produced and starred in his own show, Boogie Pete Live, which toured theatres across the UK for 3 years and has recently finished filming a new DVD in conjunction with the Meningitis Trust called Boogiefit which is available now.
As well as being a TV Presenter, Teacher, Director, Choreographer and Performer he also writes and performs his own stand-up comedy and is qualified as a Personal Trainer.
He has also made an appearance for the BBC in Eastenders and featured in programmes for ITV, Channel 5, and LWT.
You may also have seen Pete as Muddles in the Northampton Derngate Theatre's production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in 2010.
After spending 12 years in The Business Pete is very excited to be the principal of Stagecoach Northampton.
Dance Coach - Nikki McGowan
Nikki is a professional dancer and teacher who trained at Hertford Regional College and Cambridge Performing Arts Bodywork Theatre School. She has danced for Sony Music Productions Last Forever Video, Keep on Dancing Music Video and appeared numerous times in hair and fashion shows throughout the UK. She has also made an appearance on Hollyoaks, danced for Liberty X and appeared on Blue Peter. She has worked for many of the leading choreographers in the country including Kevin Adams, David Leighton and Scott Marshall. Her theatre credits include 24 hour Human Traffic, many productions with the Bodywork Co. and has even performed in pantomime in Dubai. She has choreographed and taught for numerous schools and colleges including The Stoller School of Dancing, A.C.T.S, Comberton Village College, Mayhem Theatre Arts and the Perse School for Girls. Nikki is really pleased to be joining the team here at Stagecoach Northampton.
Dance Coach - Mark Goff
Originally from Northampton, Mark grew up in a musical family and was always a showman.
He was first inspired to dance at the age of 12, when he was asked to perform the Moonwalk in his local school for a Michael Jackson track. He was then was lucky enough to meet two Filipino friends in the year above who inspired him with hip hop, slides, glides and breakdancing, one of those being Mark Calape, a contestant on So You Think You Can Dance, winner of Move Like Michael Jackson and who recently appeared on Got To Dance.
After years of training and performing, he had his first break and went on the X-Factor tour as one of Shane Ward's dancers. After a run with X-Factor, Mark took a short break in Valencia to continue training and gaining new styles. Returning home after 4 months away, he moved to Yorkshire to work in shows such as After Dark, starring top illusionist Chris de Rosa (who created the illusions for the Girls Aloud tour), School Days and Grease, while also working with Rainbow productions and the remake of the famous Postman Pat show, playing the lead role of Sam. Most recently, as well as touring the UK teaching dance to all, Mark worked throughout 2011 as the male swing for a brand new kids show called Go!Go!Go! with the world famous Mike Stock and Steve Crosby.
Mark brings great fun to his lessons and is looking forward to teaching at our Friday School.
Singing Coach - Esther Brooks
Esther gained a degree in Drama at Liverpool University after which she studied at The Bridge Theatre Training Company in Camden, training in singing, acting and dance to achieve her postgraduate diploma.
Esther has worked as a professional performer on both stage and television. Credits include Roald Dahl's The Witches at The Derngate Theatre, a three month tour of Macbeth playing Lady Macbeth, Real Story for BBC1 and a music video for Baysphere Productions. She has also worked as a singer at many weddings and events.
Esther holds a Certificate in Education and has taught in various educational establishments including Northampton High School, Harpole Primary School and currently at Tresham College and for the Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Service.
She is very excited to be joining the team at Stagecoach.
Singing Coach - Jessica Hodge
Jessica trained at Bodywork Company in Cambridge, completing a three year performing arts course.
She has worked as a vocalist for many years, performing with various bands all over the UK.
Jessica has also performed in many Musicals, her theatre credits include swing/dance captain in "Godspell" - UK tour 2002, swing/dance captain in "Summer Holiday" UK tour 2003, vocalist for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, lead vocalist in "Best of the West End" revue show, Qatar and "Sunny" and "Bobo" in "Boogie Pete Live"- UK tour 2009-2010.
Jessica has also worked as a voice-over artist and most recently she can be heard as various characters on the original recording of "Rockford's Rock Opera"
She has also taught regularly over the years in both singing and dance for "Bodywork Company", "Wilkes Academy" and "Stagecoach".
Drama Coach - Alison Pargeter
Alison has had an extensive career in theatre and television and is still a working actress.
Her theatre credits include She Stoops to Conquer (Manchester Royal Exchange), The Countess (West End-directed by Sir Alan Ayckbourn), Alice in Wonderland, Second Hand Dreams, Ten Magic Bridges, Gameplan, Grease, Out in the Cold, Children in Uniform and many many more! She has also been awarded Best Newcomer at the Critics Choice Awards, been nominated for an Evening Standard Award, Manchester Evening News Theatre Award, a What's On Stage Award and a TMA Award.
Some of her TV credits include appearing in Doctors, Casualty, Lovesoup, Green Wing, Courtroom, Dalziel & Pascoe, Holby, Strange, Urban Gothic, Rock and Chips, The Bill and you may have seen her as a regular on Eastenders playing Martin Fowler's stalker!
Alison's film credits include Calendar Girls, Angel, Mary Slessor and Mad George.
We are really excited that she is able to join us for this term at Stagecoach Northampton.
Early Stages Coach - Emma Earl
Emma trained at the Performers Performing Arts College from 2003 to 2006 under the direction of Brian Rogers, and happily graduated with a higher national diploma in Dance & Musical theatre. While studying here Emma gained her teaching qualifications. Emma has performed in cabarets at various prestigious London venues including the Grosvenor Hotel, the Dorchester and the Bloomsbury theatre. Emma joined the Early Stages team in April 2008 and has shown remarkable improvements in the movement capabilities of our young performers.
