The 2010 Stagecoach Conference took place from Monday 11th to Tuesday 12th October 2010. Attended by Stagecoach Principals from around the country and abroad, the Conference gave delegates the chance to meet, exchange ideas and catch up on all the latest Stagecoach news from across the network.
Housed in the beautiful Berystede Hotel in Ascot, the two day Conference began on Monday with an evening reception in the Eaton and Windsor Suite. Following a meal guests were treated to a very special performance by the Stagecoach Band (featuring Edward Mercieca, David Sprigg, Rainer Turba, Warren Webley and Matt Wing, with Julia Early, Julia Howson and Allison Malone providing vocals) as well as a very appropriately chosen version of the 'Ascot Gavotte' from 'My Fair Lady' performed with finesse by members of Stagecoach Head Office.

The evening reception also included the annual award for the Stagecoach Franchisee of the Year, which was won by Sally Thrussell from Stagecoach York; and the Newcomer award which was won by Frederica Dunstan from Stagecoach Trowbridge. This year also saw the introduction of the Stagecoach Franchisee 'Network Nomination' Award, whereby individual franchisees are nominated by a fellow Principal for the support, help and friendship they have shown to a fellow franchisee; this year's nominations were: Madeline Godfrey - Northwood, Emmy Hamilton - Harrow, Ginny Hartman - West Bridgford, Allison Malone - Leatherhead, Ellie Scott - Epsom, Tina Muir - Putney, Rebecca Odedra - Uxbridge, Pam Renouf - Bracknell North, Sally Catlin - Chiswick, Sara Catlin-Brown - Kensington, Sarah Corbett - Ipswich, Diane Levy - Eastbourne and the overall winner was Pam Renouf from Stagecoach Bracknell North The awards were presented by Stagecoach Founders Stephanie Manuel and David Sprigg.

Moving on to business, the following day saw a packed schedule of events, talks and seminars: Stagecoach's Head of Marketing Zeena Hicks joined Paul Taylor from Marketing and Promotions Company Consider This to discuss and outline effective marketing techniques; Mike McNulty delivered an update on the work of the Stagecoach Charitable Trust; Tony Hyams-Parrish and Reema Jephwa of legal advisers Rawlison Butler LLP, alongside Stagecoach Deputy Senior Principal Fleur Manuel and David Sprigg, spoke to the Conference about Employment Issues; Veronica Bennetts, Director of Education at Stagecoach and Joanna Morris from Rock School talked about the new Performance Arts Awards; and before lunch Melanie Brenchley and Liz Dale from C.D.E.T gave delegates an overview of the work of The Council of Dance and Education Training.
The afternoon began with a rousing mini workshop entitled 'Energize and Inspire' led by expert practitioner Will Kerley; which was followed by an informative talk from Child Protection expert Steve Lowe from Phoenix Forensic Consultants Limited.
Then, following a presentation from Duncan Bennetts, Manager of Stagecoach.TV, Stephanie and David officially closed the Conference, wishing all the delegates a safe journey home.
Alongside all this, as usual, the Conference Market Place was packed with stalls either offering advice or selling everything a Stagecoach Principal could need! Included in the Market Place were stalls from, amongst others: Consider This, Dennis & Turnbull, The Diamond Group, Dotdismus, Chip & Pin, Lester Bowden, The Online Marketing Shop, C.D.E.T, Performance Arts Awards, Rawlison Butler LLP, Stagecoach Parties and The Stagecoach Agency.
