AN INTRODUCTION TO STAGECOACH

This is Stagecoach! Down-to-earth quality training for four to eighteen year-olds in the disciplines of dance, drama and singing in a very safe and happy environment. The skills learnt by our Stagecoach students don't disappear when the curtain falls - they are skills for life.

Our School

We are inviting applications for the Autumn term for both Main School and Early Stages. Places are very limited, but we will do our best to accommodate students if we can.

Stagecoach Ipswich has four busy schools for the 6-16's and 3 for the 4-6's running at Clifford Road school. 80% of new students at Stagecoach Ipswich join us through recommendation by existing members of our school. Why not call us now to find out more about our ethos, or to book a two-week trial for someone you know who loves to perform, or who needs us to help them with their self-belief?

Sarah Corbett has been Principal of Stagecoach Ipswich since 2006. An experienced composer, singing teacher and musical director with an MA with distinction in music, she has a passion for the performance arts and her belief is that the stage is a fantastic place for people to show their creativity, to have fun, to gain confidence, but also to learn to socialise with others, to share successes which do not have to be academic, to work within a team and particularly to have experiences which stay with each child long after the curtain falls.
We are here to help not just those who are starstruck, but also those who need a boost to their self-confidence or self-esteem. Teachers are experts in their fields but also teach in a way designed to foster creativity and make each child proud of his or her individuality and achievements.

There's loads of stuff going on. Take a look round the rest of our site to find out more.
Here is a picture of Ewan MacDonald performing at Rocking The Regent. Below are testimonials received since March 2010 about Stagecoach Ipswich.

"I just wanted to let you know that we all thoroughly enjoyed Saturday's show. As usual, incredibly polished performances. I know this is extra-curricular as far as Stagecoach is concerned and so I'd like to thank you and everyone else involved for giving the kids the opportunity to perform in a real theatre environment. My children enjoyed the whole experience enormously. As I've said before, I'm always in awe of you getting them perform to those standards."
G Hines (Parent)

"This a personal thank you from me to say I was amazed with my son's performance! This was from a child who cried all the time and had to change schools because of bullying and this same child, never communicated his feelings to people especially teachers, was able to hold centre stage and was not fazed at all by it. We both send you a BIG HUG!"
C Baumguertel (Parent)

"My son has clearly gained even more in terms of both confidence and ability over the last couple of terms."
M Ward (Parent)

"You've given us students all these opportunities and I'm very grateful. It's just great knowing that you're believed in and you can do it. Stagecoach has made me become so passionate about performing. Without Stagecoach I don't think I would have got on my performing arts course."
A Sadler (Student)

"We really appreciate all the hard work and commitment you put into everything to do with Stagecoach!"
L McKenzie (Parent)

"Stagecoach has gone a fair distance in helping my daughter achieve distinctions in her college work and has enthused her to go to university to become a teacher if not performer."
C Vallar (Parent)

"Just wanted to express my thanks to you and the team. It was a great experience to be
part of this and see the hard work that goes into the show. Thanks again to you and the
team."
John Walsh (Child Welfare officer for Rocking the Regent show)

"Last night was even better than brilliant! It went off like clockwork, the children were amazing, the costumes were awesome, and I know the chaperones must have been exhausted looking after all those excitable children, and all your teachers are so committed and enthusiastic."
L McQuade (Parent)
