Our School
WELCOME TO STAGECOACH THEATRE SCHOOL, CONGLETON
This has been an exciting term for the students of Stagecoach Congleton. As well as preparing for our end of term demonstration, 16 of our students have been chosen to perform at Her Majesty's Theatre, London in June. See our News & Events page for more details.
Stagecoach in Congleton opened in September 2005 following a demand for places at the nearby Macclesfield school for children in the Congleton area. The school runs on Friday evenings and attracts children not only from Congleton, Mossley, West Heath, Havannah, Gawsworth, Astbury, North Rode, Swettenham as well as further afield from Sandbach, Goostrey, Holmes Chapel, Alsager, Biddulph and Stoke-on-Trent.
The school caters for children aged 4 - 18 years old. Prospective students and their parents are always welcome to come and have a look around to see the work achieved by our students. Please telephone 01782 777345 to arrange a visit.
An evening at Stagecoach is a fun-filled 3 hours consisting of 1 hour of dance, 1 hour of drama and 1 hour of singing. Students are split into 3 age groups with a maximum of 15 in a class. Children aged 4 - 6 attend our Early Stages class which runs for 90 minutes. Students are able to enter for examinations in Speech, Drama & Musical Theatre with LAMDA and Trinity Guildhall as well as preparing for our annual Presentation. However it is the skills learnt in class which are the main focus at Stagecoach. Whilst we teach youngsters to sing, dance and act, it also helps to encourage confidence and self esteem, skills which are for life!
The school's Principal is Craig Faulkner BMus(Hons) Estill International CMT who also runs Stagecoach Macclesfield having previously worked as the singing teacher for Stagecoach Stafford. Craig trained as a singer at Birmingham Conservatore and alongside running Stagecoach he is a Singing Tutor at Bird College in Sidcup Kent and a private vocal coach.
Stagecoach also runs five-day Holiday Workshops at our nearby Macclesfield School. These take place in the school holidays and are open to all students, whether they attend Stagecoach in term time or not.
Stagecoach teachers are experienced professionals, many of whom have had sucessful careers as singers, dancers, actors, choreographers or directors. All staff undergo enhanced CRB checks.
"Many thanks to you and your teachers for all your effort.....Charlotte has grown in confidence and performing ability through her sessions with you."

WHY STAGECOACH?
So what makes Stagecoach different from other performing arts schools?
Emphasis on training - At Stagecoach we believe that the majority of your child's time should be spent in class learning new skills, not in rehearsal which often entails lots of sitting around doing nothing.
Safety and wellbeing - A non-teaching Principal is always in attendance. This means that there is always someone to deal with anything that may happen such as a child feeling unwell. In addition the Early Stages class for 4-6 year olds has an assistant who is always over 16 years old and fully CRB checked. We also retain the services of a top child protection expert.
High standard of tuition - At Stagecoach we only employ coaches qualified to degree or diploma level or with considerable industry experience. We do not use students or amateurs. The Principal visits each class every week to monitor standards and we are unique in that once a year we are inspected without notice by an independent agency.
Value for money - Fees include all tuition (except one-to-one LAMDA tuition) and performance costs. Unlike most other schools there are no show or costume fees and no tickets to buy except when we are invited to take part in outside events. Students are entered for Trinity Guildhall group examinations when ready, again at no extra cost.
