Spring Term 2014
Our Spring term is well underway and for our Main School students, it's "Show Term". We have brought together some of the best-loved Roald Dahl characters for a school trip unlike any other! Our show will take place in the Windmill Theatre adjacent to Blatchington Mill School which is where we hold our weekly classes.
Our younger students are enjoying specially themed lessons based on the wonderful books of popular children's author, Julia Donaldson. Already this term they have covered "Room on the Broom" and "Tiddler" with plenty more to come.
Our Summer Term gives our Early Stages students their chance to shine with their very own Circus show! The Main School will be working towards Performance Arts Awards Exams. PAA offer the only fully integrated Musical Theatre exams that individually grade each student, within a group examination.
PAA Musical Theatre grade exams are unique in their ability to develop fully rounded performance skills in acting, singing and dance, which in turn develop student confidence and communication; skills that are essential for the rest of their lives.
We first introduced these to our school 2 Summers ago and they proved very popular with an 100% pass rate.
We are also once again hitting the streets of Brighton for the annual "Children's Parade". The Parade has delighted participants and spectators for over 25 years and officially launches Brighton Festival - England's largest multi-arts festival -on the first Saturday in May. Over 83 schools take part and there is always a fantastic atmosphere with great local support - whatever the weather!!
