Christmas 2010 at the Lawrence Batley Theatre. A night to remember!!
Bradford Stagecoach brought the house down at Christmas with their performance of 'A Christmas Carol' at the Lawrence Batley Theatre. The students created the script themselves based on Charles Dickens novel. It was certainly a night to remember and everyone involved left the theatre feeling elated and exhilarated.
Bradford Stagecoach performers drew the audience into the world of Ebenezer Scrooge, a greedy and tight-fisted man who shows no kindness or charity to anyone around him. Scrooge is visited by the ghost of his dead business partner, Jacob Marley. Marley warns him to change his miserly ways or he will not find happiness in this life or the next, but Scrooge refuses to believe the ghost is anything but his imagination. However, he is then visited by three more spirits in turn - The Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present and the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come. These spirits take Scrooge back and forth in time to different Christmases in an attempt to change him into a better man. Scrooge is indeed affected and changed by his experiences and we see him transformed into a kind-hearted man overnight.
