Bring a Friend Day!

Stagecoach Barnstaple are proud to support the Children's Hospice South West! Throughout the year we raise money at our performances and take the money to the hospice each year at Christmas. This year to add a bit more to the pot we are running a Bring a Friend Day on 15th October. So if you know someone at Stagecoach why not come and join in too

Peter Pan July 16th

Wow what a term we have had putting together our production of Peter Pan the Musical! The students took to the stage on July 16th in full costume, hair and makeup and wowed the audience with a great production to finish off the term. We had such fun on the day and have had great feedback from everyone that watched. A great term and a great day!

Regional Event @ Torquay!

Together with 7 other Stagecoach schools from all over the south west we performed our self-devised piece ‘You Can Be Anything You Want To Be’ in act two as part of the ‘Stagecoach Live’ regional showcase in Torquay. It was a magical day from start to finish with the students loving the opportunity to perform in a large professional theatre.

Music Video Success!

Last term our students collaborated their skills to create their very first Music Video! With a 7 minute long 'Queen Medley' the students really had their work cut out! It was a great experience to have their work professionally filmed and their vocals recorded. We all thoroughly enjoyed the day!

Amazing LAMDA Results

16 of our students aged from 7-16 years, opted to take their LAMDA Solo Acting Exams in the Spring of this year. After weeks of hard work and one to one tuition with LAMDA Tutor Mark Wakeman they got the results ... 100% PASSED!! All 16 students achieved a Merit or above with most at Distinction level! We couldn't be prouder!!

Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

(3 hrs each week)

Meet The Teachers

Principal - Kate Ridley-Holloway ADPA UKCA

Kate started her love for the Performing Arts many years ago at this very school; Stagecoach Barnstaple and Bude! This great school instilled her passion for the arts and has led to her enjoying a wonderful career, both performing and teaching.

Kate has many years of experience performing with professional touring pantomimes and shows, including working as a choreographer for London-based music videos and stage tours.

Coming back to Devon after a few years on the road, Kate discovered her love for teaching; setting up dance classes in the local area, working in primary and secondary schools, with youth and amateur dramatics groups and of course with many Stagecoach Schools both as a teacher and as Deputy Principal. During this time she also completed her Performance Arts Teaching Diploma with 'Rock School' London as well as training in many other disciplines including stunt work, cheerleading, circus skills, musical theatre and the teaching of the younger years.

With her performance background, teaching experience and love for the arts, Stagecoach Barnstaple and Bude certainly is a passion of hers!
