Stagecoach Tunbridge Wells

I have been running Stagecoach Tunbridge Wells for ten years since 2010 and in this time I have had the pleasure and honour of seeing hundreds of students blossom into confident performers. My love of the performing world began when I was very young and led me to train at the prestigious, RSAMD, Royal Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow. I am passionate about the skills children learn though the performing arts, not only performance skills but the various life skills that children can use in all walks of life right the way through to adulthood. Over the last ten years, Stagecoach Tunbridge Wells has thrived into a fun, vibrant, happy and nurturing school where the teachers and I share the same goals and vision as to what we want the students to learn and accomplish. All of our teachers are experts in their fields and all are trained professionals. We have a range of students who attend our classes from all over Tunbridge Wells, Crowborough and the surrounding areas and I pride myself on the fact that our school is fully inclusive to all students who wish to attend our classes. Seeing the progress students make and the relationships that they create with one another are definite highlights of running my school.

Summer showcase

We are so excited that this year our Main School and Further Stages students will be working towards our first summer showcase at the Assembly Hall theatre in June. It is an evening of song and dance and will be a true celebration of our students.

Early Stages Spring term

Our theme this term for our fabulous Early Stages students is At The Movies! We will be exploring a range of styles and genres from across the movies and can't wait to show our parents at the end of term what we have been working on.

Weekly Classes

Early Stages (for ages 4-6 yrs)

Stagecoach Early Stages
Early Stages classes run alongside the main Stagecoach schools, where young people learn skills in each of the three Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama, so it is an easy step when it is time to transfer to the next stage.

(90 minutes each week)

Main Stages (for ages 6-18 yrs)

Stagecoach Main Stages
Main Stages classes are split in three age appropriate groups, where young people learn new skills in each of the complementary Musical Theatre disciplines of singing, dancing & drama. We nurture the shy and apprehensive, until they find their feet and voice, whilst at the same time developing and channelling those with bundles of talent, confidence and energy. We believe in the potential of every child!

(3 hrs each week)

Further Stages (for ages 15+ yrs)

Stagecoach Further Stages
Our advanced musical theatre sessions give talented students the chance to extend their performance skills.  Through in-depth training and master classes, we help students to hone their skills in singing, dancing and acting.  We also give students the confidence to audition for theatre and vocational drama schools (if that is their goal) and make sure they are well prepared for interviews and auditions.

Fees in accordance with Main Stages.

Meet The Team

Principal - Carrie Harrison-Iddon - BA Acting

Carrie trained as a professional actress at The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow. After graduating she began her acting career in London where she gained parts in film, theatre and television. In 2004 she began teaching drama at Stagecoach Haywards Heath and loved it! Ever since then she developed a passion for teaching and slowly moved from acting into teaching drama full-time. Within her teaching jobs she has been able to develop her directing skills and has directed various shows over the years such as Grease, Bugsy Malone, My Mother Said I Never Should, Godspell and Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, Grimm Tales and Hansel and Gretel to name a few! Carrie has been the Principal now for four years and loves all the challenges and fun that comes from running the Tunbridge Wells school. She continues to feel very proud of all the students and feels lucky that we have such an enthusiastic, talented and hardworking bunch of students! Since taking over Tunbridge Wells, the school has gone from strength to strength.
